After the Search Committee interviewed five highly qualified candidates from a pool of sixty competitive applicants, your Board of Directors is pleased to appoint Genaro "Chip" Iglesias as President of ORCA, effective November 1.
"The search for a new president has been an intense process," explained Board Chairman Gary List. "It was our priority to find a candidate with all the qualifications, experience, and character needed to lead our special association, and we welcome Chip, who will do just that."

Chip joins ORCA from Ballard Partners in Coral Gables where he was the chairperson of their Local Government Practice. Prior to that, he served in senior-level positions such as Deputy Mayor/Chief of Staff of Miami-Dade County overseeing the Office of the Mayor as well as the Police, Fire-Rescue, Emergency Management, and other critical community services.
His 33-year career in public service also includes work as the CEO for the Village of Key Biscayne, President of the Miami-Dade County and City Manager Association, Chief of Staff for the City of Miami Manager, and Chief of Staff to two County Commissioners. During all of which, Chip gained extensive experience in legislative, media, and political efforts.
Chip began his profession as a firefighter/paramedic for the City of Miami, and over his 24-year career there he worked his way up the ranks to Captain and also served as Executive Assistant to the Fire Chief. Throughout his career, he earned his Master of Business Administration from Florida International University, his Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from Barry University, and attended Harvard University's Senior Executives in State and Local Government program.
